Quick Records and Color By are focused tools for working with the active Class. Quick Records adjusts teacher-defined values; Color By presents meaningful Student or Class-specific values visually.

Quick Records

Teachers can define reusable Quick Records and enable the ones each Class needs. Every enabled Quick Record keeps an integer current value for each Student in that Class.

Participation is one possible teacher-defined example. The name and purpose of a Quick Record are up to the teacher.

Adjust a Quick Record

  1. 01

    Open Quick Records

Choose an enabled record for the active Class.

  2. 02

    Choose a direction

Select the positive or negative direction for the change.

  3. 03

    Tap Students

Adjust the current value from Student cards or Roster controls.

  4. 04

    Confirm Class-wide changes

A change for the whole participating Class requires confirmation and respects attendance participation.

Current-value behavior

  • Values may be positive, zero, or negative.
  • Student Detail can set the current value directly.
  • Resetting a Class record to zero requires confirmation.

Color By

Color By maps meaningful values to colors so the active Class is easier to read. Current sources include Grade, Class Group, eligible Choice Custom Fields, and eligible Yes/No Custom Fields.

The underlying value remains separate from its display color. For example, renaming a Choice from Group 1 to Eagles preserves the Student assignments and the Class-specific color mapping.
