Arrange students when you want to place a Class into physical Seats or work through seating changes. Seating Chart keeps your edits in a draft until the arrangement is ready to save.

Arrange the Class

  1. 01

    Open Seating

Start from the active Class and open its Seating tools.

  2. 02

    Choose Arrange students

Seating Chart opens a draft so you can make several changes before saving.

  3. 03

    Place Unseated Students

Drag a Student from Unseated Students to a physical Seat in the Classroom.

  4. 04

    Move seated Students

Drag an already seated Student when the seating arrangement needs to change. Empty Seats can remain empty.

  5. 05

    Resolve occupied Seats

Continue moving Students until every Seat contains no more than one Student.

  6. 06

    Choose Done

Done commits the complete seating draft as one coherent change.

Unseated Students remain visible

Students who do not yet have a Seat remain under Unseated Students while you work. They still belong to the Class and can be placed when you are ready.

A physical Seat may also remain empty. The arrangement does not require every Seat to have a Student.
